Health Importer App Reviews

Doesnt work with xml files from latest health app

I bought this to import the xml file from the latest version of health app. It doesnt import xml files and the health app no longer exports in csv. So the only way it will work is to open the xml in excel and "save as" csv. Then be prepared to manipulate the data because it wont read all the data types in the file on its own. Waste of 2.99 until an update comes out.

This app does NOT work

“Open in Health Importer” NEVER shows up - when you try share or action items. (If you use the Apple Health Upload) If you go thru a pain of creating a csv using QS Access, it allows you to import but the app crashes while importing the data. It’s a ZERO rate - really awesome way to take away your money!

What a waste of time and money

Terrible app. It crashes when trying to import hourly data and and successfully imports 0 records when using a daily data csv. Cant believe they actually charged me for this useless app. What a joke.

OK...

Bit of a pain that there’s no obvious way to get support. The app doesn’t appear to recognize ISO-style date formats (ie 2015-09-12…), and fails to import anything. At the very least, the instructions ought to specify acceptable date formats. Minor: it’d be nice if a field whose name matched an Apple category would default to that data type.

works but only if you clean up your csv

it took me four attempts to get this to work. I had to delete my time column, delete any extra header rows besides date/blood pressure/heart rate, and remove any multiple entries on the same date, then I could get the import to work.

Do Not Buy If Using iOS9

Do not purchase this app if you are running iOS 9. It crashes when attempting to import a CSV. I have verified that it is an issue with the app as multiple other apps can open the CSV and I have restored the phone and reinstalled the app multiple times to verify that it is not an issue with my device or software. I noticed after my purchase that the app has not been updated since January of 2015 (I wish I saw this sooner). Here’s hoping the developer continues to support this app for iOS 9!

Terrible

Doesnt work. Dont waste your money!

Does not work with iOS 9

This does not work with iOS 9. Do not waste your money on this unless/until it is updated for this iOS version. Sent the company an email asking if they intend to fix it.

Almost perfect

I bought this to import CSV weight data from my smart scale. Works perfectly (including with IOS 9). One feature missing however. It doesnt remember the column mappings so I need to specify which columns go with which health app entries each time I use it. Fix that issue and Ill give it 5 stars.

No ability to import XML

iOS now exports health data as XML and this app cannot import it.

Just bad..

For starters when you click on the developers website in the App Store the contact us section at the bottom of the page is for job opportunities and not for customer support. Secondly I created a backup that contained every category within the health app. When I attempt to import my data from the CSV file I emailed myself in then asked to manually configure each category. Example it will say calories within the app and yet I still have to match calories to calories. Hard to explain but the more categories youve got the worse your experience will be. Having said that since this was my first time I didnt know I didnt need to select every category when I backed it up. That shouldnt be an issue however as I should just set the start and end to the start and end and set things like steps and heart rate and hit import (and guess if I need to click the import first row option whatever thats for). But nope. Didnt work. Ok so I verified there is data in my CSV. So this time Ill just select the start and my heart rate. Nope... How about start and steps? Nada. iPhone 6s Plus running public release of iOS 9.0.2 And this hasnt worked for me since iOS 9 beta. Suggestion: have the app detect what fields are within the CSV OR have it categories linked but have an on off button for each. Manually configuring more than five or ten categories isnt very approachable. Edit: I edited my CSV within iOS Numbers and removed all empty columns. Also I have military date and time setup (dd/mm/yyyy) and selected that for start and end and it worked. Giving back two stars however I sincerely believe this could be fixed by implementing a way to detect how things are set up and what data is present. The health data exported from the health app shouldnt need to be linked to the health apps categories. I get this is useful for other apps that may have their own names for things so why not an option for us to say hey my data is coming from the health app or hey my data is coming from elsewhere?

Waste of money

Apple emails a "zip" file in a different format . Cant be exported and there aint options to export either . Sorry wasted my money
